About The Sky Ledger
A documentary channel about famous aircraft that didn't deliver what was promised: the delays, the cancellations, the reversals, and the paper trail behind them.
How the films are made
Research first. The story only goes as far as the documents do.
Pick a famous aircraft and a clear promise
Start with an aircraft people recognise and a promise anyone can understand.
Go to the original record
Company filings, manufacturer announcements, regulator records and statements made at the time. Press coverage is treated as a lead until the original source is checked.
Reconstruct the chain of events
Dates are kept exact. An announcement and a formal cancellation are two different events and are reported as such.
Write the film
Every film gets its own script, with a simple title and an early answer, then spends its time on how and why.
What every film holds to
The record first
Claims come from original documents. Forecasts and marketing are reported as claims, not facts.
Say what the record doesn't
Where the documents stop, the film says so instead of guessing.
No villains by default
A failure has causes, not cartoon bad guys. Each side's documented reasoning gets a fair hearing.
